Tuesday Surf

It felt really good to go out on tuesday and catch some waves. It felt so good that I really didnt take many photos. I surfed from mid morning til mid afternoon and took a few shots before heading home and grabbing some food. I was planning on shooting in the water when i got back but decided to surf more. Its been such a slow winter it felt good to get back in the water with a board. It was also very crowded with spring break, check out one of my shots of everyone walking back up the beach after a drift. Good times.

Slowing Down at Sunset

I hope everyone got to surf yesterday. Waves were fun and I know a lot of us were excited to get into the water with some sort of wave over waist high. I took a few photos yesterday but pretty much surfed all day so this post is about the night before. I got off work ( I am now working up at Ocean Surf Shop!) around 6 and got all of my gear and went to the washout. There was a constant drizzle and the skies were dark and cloudy. The waves were about stomach high and kinda closing out with the lower tide. I saw a few guys get some barrels and heard it was better a few hours prior.

I have been wanting to get out in the water and shoot with a slower shutter for a while now. For whatever reason, it's taken me a while to find the right conditions. Monday night was looking good so i went for it. I stayed out til after 8 playing around in the surf and had a fun time trying to keep my housing still and line up a few shots at it was getting dark fast. Heres a few from Monday, Ill post a few I shot from the beach of yesterdays session sometime tomorrow.

Boston Streets

I was in Boston about a month ago for my sisters wedding and ventured out into the city for a few hours on a nice, surprisingly warm March day. I've never really walked around a big city taking photos but I actually enjoyed putting my headphones on and just shooting. Heres a few shots from my walk, not your typical shots you'd see on the blog but I hope you enjoy them.

Cold Offshore Mini-Waves!

It has been great settling into the new house and getting to shoot out on Folly on a much more regular basis. Last night was one of those nights. I was busy all day but managed to make it out to the beach around early evening with cold howling offshore winds. The winds had already knocked down the waves some and the tide was also dropping out. I just got a Donald Takayama to keep at my house for a friend and if I brought that instead of my short board I probably would've taken it out instead of taking some photos. However, Im pretty stoked with the shots I did get. The clouds were cool and the sunset was pretty nice. The water is still pretty cold....

Todays Happenings

Whats going on? Its been a little while so I wanted to post some new photos to the blog. If you want more action check out Follyhood's' facebook page and give it a like. I wanted to go for a surf this afternoon with strong NE winds kicking up a little wave but it was too small and cold for me. Looks like it was the same for a lot of guys with only a few surfers out and some kiteboarders. The dredging is now all the way at the south end of the washout. These pics Im posting were taken at high tide. You can clearly see how much more sand is at the washout now. Anyways, Im back living on the beach and have my internet set up so Im stoked to be sharing photos a little more often now! Cheers.
