Dumpy, Cold Waves

With the air temp hovering around 32 degrees and the water in the mid 40's, a handful of people braved the elements for some small dumpy waves. I took these right before I paddled out and only stayed in the water for about 45 minutes. I dont know how they do it up north. It was a dark gloomy morning but heres the few photos that I took.

Folly Bikes

Yo, took the bike out today to take some photos of other peoples bikes. I could do another post sometime later with this one. So many bikes on Folly.

Disorganized windswell tomorrow, maybe some rideable surf then look for a nice cleanup session Tuesday AM with the tide push...

Also, I am getting a tripod that should be in tomorrow. Cant wait til full moon....

Fact: Birds Like Fish

Lots of birds on the beach today because their buddies told them about the buffet. Better than tourists.........

End Of The World??? Dead Birds, Now Fish

If you haven't heard or seen, thousands of dead Menhaden washed up onto the beach around the pier earlier this week.  It seems that us surfers aren't the only ones who hate this cold ass water. Everything I am hearing is saying the water is just too cold. I guess everyone has their own theory. I read that in the the winter of 2000-01 the water temps hovered in the mid 40's and it killed about 98% of the Lowcountry shrimp supply. I think people are scared that this could happen again very soon with similar water temps. NOT GOOD FOR LOCAL FISHERMAN.

I took pictures yesterday before work in a rush but cant find my memory card reader to upload them . Im also gonna go check it out soon and see if I can take some more pics of them on a sunny day.

HERES THE PICTURES!!!! The Pictures from Thursday are the clean looking fish. Then the tide pulled a few back out and left the rest really sandy. Also, you can see the birds were all over them and by today they had a very large buffet.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had a nice New Years Eve and Day. Went to the Pour House on NYE and had a good time. Plenty of good football too. I got to surf yesterday at sunset and had a nice session on the longboard. It was small and shitty, but warm and fun. Sometimes just getting wet is good enough for me. Heres a few random pictures...Im really looking forward to 2011 and will be taking plenty of pictures.

I was messing around this morning and somehow stumbled into this cool, weird website. It has a lot of random pictures and hot naked girls. It was weird but I couldnt stop looking at the pictures.
