Turkey Waves!!!

Hey Everyone!
Sorry I havent been updating a lot but I want to post some photos I took on turkey day. We actually had some fun little waves on Thanksgiving. I had to edit the pictures because the lens that I got for the camera isnt exactly great for taking pictures here on Folly. Im gonna try and sell my 18-55mm lens that I just got and buy a 50-200mm lens. This is the correct lens for Folly Beach.

We should be getting some waves this week. It should start to show late Monday and last through Thursday morning but we all know anything can happen between now and then. Looks like windswell early then might clean up by Wednesday. Lets just hope we all get some waves!

Hey Everyone!
Sorry I havent been posting stuff all week, my roomate took his computer home and thats what I usually use. I did get my camera on monday!! Ive been taking a lot of photos and should be able to put them up saturday at the latest. I hope everyone got some leftovers this morning (waves!!, not turkey). It was stomach high+ plus and clean this morning and not very crowded at all. Gotta love thanksgiving waves.

Anyways, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and got to enjoy it with family and friends!!!

Yo everyone!
Beautiful Sunday here on Folly! The ocean is flat and the sun is warm. It does look like we are actually gonna be getting some small waves late Tuesday thru early Thursday. Im talkin real small but itll be nice to grab the log and get in the water!

Hey Everyone!
The forecast for the upcoming week is looking very bleak. It looks like we may be getting some SE wind swell in the middle of the week, but who knows what will happen between now and then.

In the meantime, I want to give a shout out to the Folly Beach Brew Pub. FBBP is located at 32 Center St. right in the heart of Folly. They offer a wide variety of craft beers and wines as well as some stuff brewed in the back. If you friend them on Facebook, they will keep you updated on whatever they brew in house.  You can drink in there or you can buy a 6 pack and take it home. They have live bands playing on Friday and Saturday nights! Anyways, if your around Folly and want a beer I'd recommended swinging by here and drinking some good beer and just relax.

The Future Is Looking Very Clear!

Hey Everyone!
I didn't get to update the blog yesterday but I do have some pretty big news! As everyone knows, I have been looking for a new camera and finally found one yesterday. After looking on eBay and a few other sites I found the Nikon D3000 10.2 Mega Pixel Kit W/ 18-55mm lens (Refurbished) for a great price! It is coming in from Georgia and I should be getting it sometime next week. The features of this camera will really improve my action photography and the overall quality of my photos. It is my first time using a digital SLR camera so I'm exited to see what I can do.

Nikon D3000.

There was a little bit of swell in the water yesterday but it faded fast in the afternoon. I went to the washout at high tide late afternoon and it just didnt seem worth it to me. It was maybe thigh high and closing out in about thigh high water. I didnt have batteries in my camera but finally got some new ones from Berts right before the sunset yesterday and took some pictures. Here they are....Enjoy!

Hey Everyone!
With south winds gusting right around 30 MPH today, it produced some disorganized but ridable waves. The waves weren't lining up very good but there were some peaks around chest high. I went out right after I took these pictures but then had to go to work. I'm sure the waves improved with the late afternoon high tide but I dont want to think about that because I was stuck working.

Im off tomorrow but it looks like these waves only stayed for a few beers then went on their way so the forecast is lookin pretty shitty for the upcoming week. I took a few pictures around the beach today. Here they are...Sorry I changed the colors on a few of them because the lighting was really bad and thought the changes looked better.

Quiet Monday On Folly

Hey Everyone!
Low tide has killed the waves this morning so I just rode my bike around and took a few pictures. There were a few longboarders out the rides were very short with the low tide. The waves should pick up today into the thigh high range with the tide filling in this afternoon. I have to work so Im hoping to get a quick session in before I work at three.

Better Then Nothing

Hey Everyone!
While it wasn't the waves we were expecting we still had some small clean waves today. I took the longboard out and had some fun at the pier, pretty much surfing by myself. The sets were coming in right around waist/stomach high so I had a few nice rides. It was nice to see the crowds die down today and just have people out who enjoy surfing on a beautiful sunny Sunday.

I did look around for a used digital SLR camera today and will continue to look around until I find a good deal. This will really help me capture some nice action shots but the price has to be right. I took some pictures today for yall to enjoy but they arent anything special. Just a glimpse of what was goin on out here on a really nice Sunday!
