Right Coast Represent!!

Yo!
Just saw that they made it official and New York will be hosting an ASP World Tour Event. The event will run sometime between September 4-15 2011 on Long Island. Ive never been to NY but I have seen photos and I know it can get really good up there, especially with the right Hurricane swell. I hope they get a good swell and we can see the best surfers in the world surf our coast! Man would I love to get up there and experience the event and take some photos...

I Blew It

Woke up around 9 today and the waves were not good. It had some size but was pretty nasty with the wind, current, and cold water. I know I promised more pictures today but the messy waves made for some bad photos. The sun came out for a second then the fog rolled in out of nowhere and the visibility was very low. I went down to see if anyone was at the pier and you couldnt see the end (check pictures below).

Also my new lens came in today!! Im still very new to the photography game but Ive learned so much since I started the blog and am slowly getting a nice little collection of lens. Thanks Ebay. Im still learning everyday but I guess you have to start somewhere...

Also The Pipe Pro is on right NOW and Pipeline has been CRAZZZY. That wave really blows my mind.

Took a few photos before I went out around Noon. I figured it was gonna get worse so I only took about 30 photos and was more focused on getting to surf. Waves were around stomach high and had some fun clean faces. I think everyone is just happy to get some sort of swell. Lets hope we get a nice cleanup session tomm in the AM. Ill take more pictures tomorrow.

Waves The Next 2 Days!

Yo! Clean waves the next few days and it looks like the tides are gonna be right for some nice AM sessions. Swellinfo is calling for waist to stomach with sets up to chest high and then a bit bigger for Wednesday! I am not working the next two days so Im excited to surf and also take a lot of pictures. I am expecting my new 70-300mm lens any day now...I hope I can use it for this swell. We'll see when it comes in. The high is also right around 60 for the next 2 days so that helps too!

Moon Shine 2

Happy Friday!!!

I took some full moon pictures last night but I had to work and got down to the beach a little later then I would have liked. By the time I got out there it was a little cloudy but I got a few OK ones anyways. Just not a lot of light like the last time I was out for full moon.

I also just bought a new lens on ebay! Its nikons 70-300mm AF f/4-5.6D ED lens and I should be getting it sometime next week. Hopefully we can get some more waves so I can put it to use. Im always excited to upgrade my gear....

Brain Freeze Waves

Whats Up Everyone??
I hope everyone had some fun and got out to Folly today. I got up and pulled the dawn session and it was well worth it. Waves were clean and running in the chest to shoulder range! However, the mid 40's water temps were killing everyone. I dont have a hood so give me 2 duckdives and I was dizzy and feeling like I was gonna throw up. There weren't many guys out so I didn't get too many great action shots. It was also bad lighting and I dont think the pictures turned out that great. Plenty of barrels too as you can see in the pictures.
